Davis and Shirtliff Group, the leading supplier of Water related equipment in the East African region has brought its services closer to the people of Northern Kenya by opening its first branch in the region in Garissa.
The firm whose activities are focused on six principal product sectors – water pumps, boreholes, swimming pools, water treatment, generators and solar equipment opened its branch in the County in December this year but was officially opened today by Garissa County CEC for Health, Water and Sanitation Mr. Muktar Bulale.
The CEC expressed his gratitude to the Company for opening its first branch in the region in Garissa and for bringing its services closer to the people.
He said that he personally approached the Company to open shop in the County but was astonished to learn that they already had such plans in place.
Mr. Bulale was optimistic that through the firm’s wide range of products and services, North Eastern and Garissa in particular will benefit greatly.Invited guests, Top Management and staff of the branch pose for a group photo
He added that he has interacted with the Company in the past while working with several NGOs and assured residents of Garissa that the products and services offered by the firm is second to none.
The colorful ceremony was attended by the firm’s top Management headed by Mr. Edward Davis, prominent businessmen from the County, representatives from the County Government and NGOs and other stake holders from the Energy, Water and Sanitation sectors.
Branch Manager Mr. Leonard Njiru thanked residents of Garissa for the warm reception and assured them of quality service.
“Recognizing that the provision of efficient water supply is essential for the region’s economic development, the firm will play a big role in this vital industry by offering a comprehensive and competitive product range and unrivaled technical and service support” he said.
He added that the firm had already undertaken mega projects in the region and pointed out the installation of solar powered street lights in Wajir town, solar panels and water pumps in Khorof Harar and Arbajahan in Wajir County and in Fafi, lagdera and Dadaab in Garissa County.
The firm is also involved in the construction and equipping of a hydrant for Garissa County’s firefighting department.
Responding to requests from the invited guests, Mr. Edward Davis, the Business Development Manager, assured residents of Garissa and the entire region of the firm’s support.
He said that they will undertake CSR (Corporate social responsibility) projects in the region and appealed for assistance in identifying deserving cases such as schools, hospitals or other institutions.
The branch is located along Harambee road, near Gamadid hardware in Garissa town.
