Residents of Wajir town turned up in large numbers yesterday in order to send off the #walkofhope brigade as the team begun the second and final phase of the trek that will see them complete the 1000KM journey.

The trek which begun at Tana bridge in Garissa on June 13 has been successful so far as the intended mission to ignite a self-audit by area residents is bearing fruits.

Wajir Deputy Governor Abdihafidh Yarrow led other senior county officials in joining the walkers briefly. They trekked with the team up to Lafaley which lies close to 10Km from Wajir town.

Others were CEC for Finance Salah Adan, Chief Officer for Education Abdullahi Maalim, his Public Works and Public health counterparts Abdinoor Hussein and Dr. Abdinoor Hajji Mohamed respectively.
