The Senate has this afternoon received a petition from a section of Wajir residents against their County government on financial malpractices & irregular recruitments.

The petition, together with a similar one against the county government of Kiambu received by the same house yesterday regarding irregular purchase of motor vehicles, were referred to the relevant house committee for further action.

Confirming receipt of the same, Senate Finance committee Chair Billow Kerrow said that his committee will execute its mandate without favor.

“Clearly, the senate has its work cut out, as residents of various counties demand more accountability” said Kerrow in a post on his Facebook page.

Kerrow assured affected counties and the general public that the house was there to represent the interests of both parties.
