Roba seeks IGAD assistance for his cross-border development agenda

Mandera governor Ali Roba on Friday hosted IGAD Secretary General Amb. Mahaboub Maalim in Nairobi to discuss regional support for Mandera County projects.

The leaders discussed support for cross border health facilities to help reduce burden on infrastructure ran by county resources as well as conduct training for community health workers from the region.

Support for prevention and Countering Violent Extremism was equally discussed with possibilities of building capacities of county officials on CVE at a Djibouti based Centre.

Governor Roba seized the opportunity to also lobby for support to build a Bridge over River Daua linking Mandera to Malka Suftu. The two leaders spoke at length on the proposed damming of River Daua to regulate all year round flow of water.

Governor Roba was accompanied by his Chief of Staff Mr. David Ohito.
