President Uhuru Kenyatta today bade farewell to the outgoing Somali ambassador to Kenya Mr. Mohamed Ali Nur Americo.
While wishing well in his future endeavors, the president thanked Mr. Nur for strengthening ties between the two countries during his tenure.
In a colorful ceremony held at statehouse Nairobi, the President also received credentials from 12 other incoming diplomats.
The new envoys to Kenya were Turkish Ambassador Deniz Eke, Australian High Commissioner John Matthew Feakes, South African High Commissioner Koleka Anita Mqulwana, Kuwaiti Ambassador Qusai Rashed Al-Farhan, Czech Ambassador Pavel Rezac.
Others were Senegalese Ambassador Abdoul Wahab Haidara, Ambassador Beatrice Kankindi of Burundi, High Commissioner Perks Ligoya of Malawi, Ambassador Dina Mufti Sid of Ethiopia, High Commissioner James Kimonyo of Rwanda, Ambassador Prasittiporn Wetprasit of Thailand and Ambassador Laszlo Eduard Mathe of Hungary.
“I expressed my Government’s commitment to working closely with them to enhance cooperation between Kenya and their respective countries” said the President in a post on his Facebook page.
