A terror suspect has been arrested and another deadly cache of firearms and explosives seized from him by security agencies in Garissa on Wednesday.

Three AK-47 riffles, 227 rounds of ammunition, seven rocket-propelled grenades, four magazines and four hand grenades as well as a metallic home-made bomb carrier, soldering wire and several mobile phones were among the lethal arsenal found by police.

The latest breakthrough in the war on terror in North Eastern comes a day after six Tanzanians were arrested in Dadaab as they attempted to cross in to Somalia to join Al-shabaab.

North Eastern regional commissioner Mohamud Saleh confirmed the Tanzanians were in possession of assorted weapons.
