The voting phase for this year’s Bake Kenyan blog awards and the list of nominees in each category was today launched in Nairobi and yours truly was shortlisted for the best county blog award.
The Awards reward bloggers that post on a regular basis, have great and useful content presented in a creative and innovative format.
The nominees were selected by a panel of judges comprising of bloggers and media personalities.
The judges this year were Philip Mwaniki, Lynda Nyangweso, Mbugua Njihia, Joel Macharia and Ahmed Salim.
The launch held at Intercontinental hotel in Nairobi was graced by BAKE sponsors and partners including Airtel, who are the Gold Sponsors, Hivos Foundation, Intel, Xpose, and X News.
“We must support the ecosystem around our business & bloggers are part of our ecosystem, we are sponsoring the blog awards this year because we also believe in local content” said Adil El Youssefi, CEO Airtel Kenya at the voting phase launch.
Speaking at the event, BAKE Chairman Mr. Kennedy Kachwanya said that blog content creation in the country was growing as was evident from the increase in the number of nominations and voting numbers over time.
“Relevant content, regular posting and marketing. Through blogging there is now a second force for reporting” said Philip Mwaniki, Daily Nation Editor and a Kenyan Blog Awards 2015 judge.
Voting will run from today March 2, 2015 and will end on April 30, 2015. The winners will be announced on May 2, 2015.
The best county award in the year 2014 was bagged by county-411.com who garnered 2800 votes.
