The Managing Director of Garissa Water and Sewerage Company (Gawasco) has been sent on Compulsory leave yesterday pending investigations.

Mr. Idris Abdi was sent packing by the company’s board of directors after he was accused of financial impropriety, irregular recruitment, promotions and demotions of staff among other malpractices.

His appointment to the Company’s throne raised eyebrows as he was a husband to Garissa County’s Women rep. Hon. Shukran Gure.
