A journalist who participated in the famous Walkofhpe has become the latest victim of a notorious gang in Eastleigh.
Salah Mohamed who currently plies his trade with a local TV station was attacked, injured and robbed of his phone, cash and other valuables as he walked along First Avenue near the offices of crown bus in Eastleigh’s 12 street on Friday night at around 8.20pm.
“The group of young men stabbed me at the back close to my left kidney, then the 4 men robbed me off my cell phone and some pocket money” confirmed Salah from his hospital bed at a Nairobi hospital where was being treated.
The knife wielding gang, known as superpower has been slowly spreading its wings in Eastleigh and nowadays hardly passes a day without a similar incident reported.
Salah was among those who trekked the 1000km walk from the Tana bridge in Garissa all the way to border point one in Mandera.
The walk was aimed at creating awareness on the region, a mission that has yielded fruits as locals put their differences aside and joined the walkers wherever they reached.
President Uhuru hosted Salah and his colleagues after they successfully completed the walk.
Nepjournal wishes him quick recovery.
