CentRep, NEP Journal Online Survey on Impact of Devolution in North Eastern Kenya Counties.

centrep-nepjournalDevolution was introduced in Kenya in August 2010 when the country ushered in a new constitution. The new system of governance came with unprecedented merits in the distribution of the national budget.

In North Eastern Kenya, the three counties of Garissa, Mandera and Wajir received close to Kshs 70 billion. No doubt the region has received hitherto elusive development under devolution. While some people believe enough was achieved, others are of the opinion that much more could have been done.

In an effort to assess the impact of devolution in the three countries, CentRep Ltd in collaboration with NEP Journal is conducting an online-survey in the three counties of North Eastern Kenya: Wajir, Mandera and Garissa.

CentRep is a fully registered research and development firm that was formed to support socio-economic development in East Africa through research. The research and development firm prioritizes on food security and livelihood, security, governance and public participation, education and economy.

This online survey is a preliminary study to help CentRep identify specific aspects of devolution where further studies can be carried out for the sole purpose of generating knowledge which can be of importance to the proper implementation of devolution in those counties. The online survey is hosted by NEP Journal but is also available on other platforms (like Facebook groups’ pages) through a web-link. The entire survey can take 15-20 minutes and we are asking for your support by responding to the questions. The survey will run for a maximum of 30 days but can be closed before that if we reach the target 384 respondents.

After the survey is completed and data analysis done, we will share the report with the public through NEP Journal (Nepjournal.com) and also on our website www.centrep.co.ke.

As a permanent resident of either Garissa, Wajir or Mandera your participation in this online survey is paramount and inevitable. We are grateful to receive your input as one of our respondents.
