20 including prominent journalist among the dead in Mogadishu attack


Up to twenty people were killed today and over forty others injured in twin attacks near the National Theatre in Mogadishu, Somalia.

The dead include prominent Universal TV journalist Awil Dahir Salad famous for his ‘Dood Wadaag’ talk show. Awil and several of his colleagues were reportedly driving to work when they were caught up in the attack.

Mohamed Tuulah, Deputy Chief of Security Affairs survives the bombing & attempted assasination

Benadir region’s Deputy Chief of Security Mohamed Tuulah and seven of his guards were among those injured in the early morning attack.

Sources indicate he was the target for assassination.

Federal MP Warsame Joodah was also injured in the attack.
